Summer

Summer is finally here!  I will be posting a lot of cool and creative crafts this summer. Here is one now. Crayola makes some glow in the dark markers that are really cool. In the package, there are some of their regular markers and a clear one that makes the things glow in the dark. So, first you draw anything you want with the regular markers, then you can draw over it with the one that glows in the dark. After that, you use the black one to draw the outlines. Take it into a dark no-window room… and voila. It glows in the dark!!

TIPS:

#1     Always make sure that you draw over the other colors when using the one that glows in the dark.

#2     Make sure you are in a pitch black room when you are seeing it glow.

FUN IDEAS WITH WHAT TO DO WITH IT:

You could use them for Halloween decorations. Another great idea is to use it for a party or you could use them to make a picture for someone. You could also make a mask with them. Here is a great idea. You could use them to decorate your Pumpkin on Halloween.

Well, soon you will see other great ideas on my blog. Have a wonderful summer! :] (;

What I’ve Learned As A 4th Grader

This year I’ve learned about improper fractions. An improper fraction is a fraction where the bigger number is on top. It’s like the baby holding the dad and that would be improper. I’ve also learned that division is repeated subtraction and multiplication is repeated addition. I have learned how to use a protractor with measuring angles. You have to line the bottom of the protractor with the bottom line of the angle, then wherever the line is pointing is how many degrees the angle is. I have also learned two-digit times two-digit multiplication. I learned that you multiply it like it is one-digit times two-digit multiplication, then you write the answer. Then underneath it you are supposed to put a zero then multiply the first number in the first digit times the first number in the second digit. Then you write that answer to the left of the zero. Now add the two numbers together. We have also learned shapes. We learned about their verticies, angles, and faces.  We made a book about it. I LOVE 4th grade!

Showy Primrose

My flower name is called the Showy Primrose. The scientific classification is Onagraceae. The scientific name is Oenothera Speciosa. It grows althrough Texas. The height is 8-16 inches. The four petals are pink making a glistening white toward the center. The blooming period is March-July. I think an interesting fact is that it is called Buttercup because when smelled, it leaves yellow pollen on one’s nose.
